Here are some home learning activities to try at home.

Here is some information showing why Philosophy4Children (P4C) is so important....

What is Philosophy for Children?

An enquiry based approach to open up children’s learning through the exploration of ideas.

Gives children the possibility of seeing that their ideas have value, and that others have different ideas that have value too.

They realise that they don’t always have to be right.

They have the confidence to ask questions and learn through discussion.

All learners (including teachers) have opportunities to genuinely enquire.

A chance to speak and be heard without fear of getting an answer wrong.

Intelligence grows.

Gives children who are not considered “academic” a voice and a chance to flourish.

Gives the “academic” children a chance to think outside the box and to see that the non-academic have inspiring ideas.

Gives all children value.

Bitesize are providing daily lessons for you to do together at home. Here is the link for you to access the materials.

Don't forget to complete the activities from your homework pack. Here are some other activities you can try at home and useful websites. Please make sure you have parental controls on your device. I would suggest doing the activities together to make sure the content is suitable.

I have included Joe Wick's daily exercise for you to do together and dough disco activities. If you don't have dough you can pretend and still copy the actions.!?type=Book&q=&cat=170&sortOption=Relevance&pageNo=1

Check in at 8p.m. (due to the time zone difference) for a daily Home Safari on the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden’s Facebook Live Feed. A different animal will feature each day and the zoo keepers will set a simple follow up activity, too.

The San Diego Zoo has a website just for kids with amazing videos, activities, and games. Enjoy the tour!

This zoo probably has the most live cams available: pandas, baboons, penguins, polar bears, apes, koalas, giraffes, burrowing owls, elephants, tigers and condors.
